This is one of my most sacred places. It is only 15 mins from my house and many an afternoon finds me sitting on the edge of this cascading stream. This day was a little different, our area had just been hit with the aftermath from a cyclone further up the coast causing severe flooding. Our property was part of the deluge, with almost two metres of water washing through the lower level. The same day the flood hit, this day you see in the images, we were also about to put our house up for sale after months of preparation. The universe was sending a clear message and although we were still in shock, we went to make peace with the water spirits and sit in awe of the power and beauty she holds. This was the most water I have ever seen here, the force of the volume of water covered the hills with a soft mist, adding to the surreal feeling of the events that were unfolding. Although we cant know why she decided to claim our town, we trust that it was needed and begin the process of repair and rejuvenation.
