+ pilgrimage to naroongowie - stokes bay

It was our first day on Naroongowie and it was pouring rain. We were itching to go explore so we jumped in the car and headed along some dirt tracks to see where they would lead. We knew eventually we would hit the ocean. Its so strange to see farmland so close to the ocean, right beside where we parked a tractor sat waiting to be put to work. We had landed at Stokes Bay, a treasure trove of washed up sea plants and rocks. Just around the headland, there was a small grove filed with beautiful succulents and plants, all tiny and windswept from the harsh environment. We could see there was a path leading to another private beach but it was high tide and we couldn't make our way around. It was such a wonderful introduction to the magic the island has to offer, and so much more beautiful with the moody sky and scattered rain.
